When is the first production Electric Vehicle or PEV going to sell?

I am an ev enthusiast and badly want a production EV offered by one of the major car corporations (ie. toyota, honda, volvo, ford etc) does anyone have an idea of when these vehicles will actually be for sale. I find myself being extremely frustrated knowing that the technology exist and can be affordable through mass production but yet is still 2-3 years before we see them on the road. I am aware that there are ev and pev's on the road through smaller manufactures who jack up the price because they are the only show in town. Someone talk me off the ledge of giving up hope on the EV.

As for big companies, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Mercedes are shooting for EVs in 2010:

Not to mention GM and Toyota with plug-in hybrids also by 2010.
