  1. Yap nothing to look forward to. So called Singapore Sales are retailer getting rid of old stocks.

  2. GSS is from June to July every year. It lasts a month or so. The cheapest item? GSS does not always gives deal on that, as every items sold actually was last season. If you really want cheapest item, try to go to Warehouse sale or Outlet Closing sale. John Little closed it's outlet at Plaza Singapore this month. Every item was discounted up to 90%, but you must have time to go through those bins!

    Happy shopping!

  3. The Great S'pore Sale usually lasts a month, between June and July.  It's an islandwide sale, but participating outlets are shops within the major shopping centres, usually within the Orchard, Suntec and HarbourFront areas.

If you're looking for good bargains, then I'd suggest for you to go to closing down/moving out sales for some reasonable discounts.

Or, if you have the time, it's usually a good idea to scour around the heartland areas.

  4. GSS is going on from 23rd May to 20th July 2008.

I believe there are many good online offers at the moment.

Few good one that I have came across:

    www.moleyapparels.com

    tualobang.blogspot.com

    www.emalls.sg

Do check them out! Some have really good deals going on!

  5. It is an islandwide sales, especially for stores located in the city area. However, for the heartlands, it depends on whether they would want to leverage on the GSS to clear their old stocks.

The items with the cheapest price are , for the females, oversized. while for the males, it's either oversized or undersized. For singaporean females, XS or S is the normal size for the ladies here, while for males is normally M or L. So if your sizes are anything other than these, perhaps you can find some great bargains.

  6. Seriously... there's nothing cheap in Singapore.  Their sale are not like the ones you will find in the UK or USA... when they say SALE... is not quite SALE as you would have expected.  The only good bargain you can find in Singapore usually is at the PC Show etc... I think its coming in August 2008 sometime... not too sure there.  Other than that... as per your question, usually when its 'sale' time... its in the Orchard Rd area and its surrounding.

  7. Largely, the sale is islandwide - extending into the heartlands - except in small neighbourhood shops beneath the residential blocks. However, it's the major stores and malls that pull out all stops and open until past midnight on weekends.

The reason why it's termed a "sale" is because discounts are given out on a variety of items. The most common discounts I've personally seen are for 20% off the usual price, though I have heard of discounts of up to 70% off. Free gifts are sometimes given with purchases.

As to what the cheapest items are, it basically depends on the usual price of what you're buying. I'd say that it should be the clothing items that go cheapest, but if you're going by percentage discounts, that's another matter...
