When is the next Eclipse?

I try to look it up but get everything mixed up. I saw it said Aug. 1st of 08 but i live in ohio and im not sure if ill be able to see it because im not sure i think i read something about seeing it in china? who knows.. So if anyone knows when then next eclipse is and if i will be able to see it in ohio and what time its going to start that would be great..

Here's a link to NASA's site on eclipses.  It should not only answer your question but help you keep informed on future lunar and solar eclipses.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear Ohio is in the viewing area for this eclipse.  It should be viewable in parts of Canada and Greenland.

The next solar eclipse to touch North America will be August 1, 2008; but it will only be visible in northern Canada.

The next solar eclipse with good visibility for most of North America will be August 21, 2017.

The next solar eclipse is on august 1st but will only be visible from the arctic circle and china.  

There are generally eclipses about every 6 months to 2 years somewhere in the world.

Hi Pink!

The next total eclipse of the sun in Ohio will be April 8, 2024.  That early afternoon, most of northern and central Ohio will be in the path of totality, including Cleveland, Toledo Akron and Dayton.  

In the Cincinnati area, Hamilton is under the total eclipse, but the line narrowly misses central Cincinnati.  The same for Columbus, where Dublin lies in the path, but the capital itself sees only a deep partial eclipse.

The entire Lake Erie shore sees the total eclipse.  The central areas of Youngstown and Akron miss out on totality, but their northern suburbs do get to see it.

The total eclipse happens around 3:10 p.m. that Monday afternoon, April 8, 2024.
