  1. ITV 7.30 Friday.

  2. The Queen is in good health partly due to her love of the outdoor lifestyle, she may even live longer than her beloved Mother, so hopefully there won't be a Coronation for a long long time yet.

    Long may she reign!

  3. First the reigning monarch, for me, it's Queen Elizabeth, has to die, or as one person said abdicate. However, Her Majesty will never abdicate, so she has the responsibility until death. On her death, her heir, Charles, becomes king. However, the actual Coronation is when his ascension to the throne is formalized. It is usually sometime after the period of official mourning ends.

A coronation is a serious state ceremony and takes a lot of planning. Most of it is already planned. The Brits are great planners. But while the form is known, it requires coordination of a great many people - foreign heads of state, Prime Ministers, Governors General, Governors of all the Commonwealth Countries, etc.

It will be a while before we have another. I wouldn't be waiting to book my holidays to attend.

  4. Rory Emerald is due to be crowned King of the Seachell Islands on September 12.

  5. Hopefully never. I'm looking forward to the day when we have a Head of State who promises to serve the electorate, not the other way round.

  6. errrrm.  When a new monarch is crowned? Through either the death or abdication of Elizabeth 2nd.  Assuming you are talking about the UK and NI?  It's not a regular event like the changing of the guard!

  7. The next 'British' Coronation will be when the Queen (Elizabeth II) either dies or abdicates the throne in favour of her son Charles or in the event he doesn't go for it ... he abdicates in favour of his son, William.

  8. About a year after the Queen dies.

  9. The next coronation will be when Charles becomes king.

However, Prince William is next in line after him.  If

Queen Elizabeth outlives Charles, then Prince William will

accede to the throne.  Charles will be Charles III, and William will be William IV,I think.

  10. When the next monarch is crowned, which will be when the present queen dies. In our case, it'll be Charles' coronation at some point in the next 20 years.

  11. What, coronation street episode?

    Friday 7:30!

Or when Queen Lizzy pops her clogs!

  12. The answer to that question lies with God.

Her Britannic Majesty. Queen Elizabeth the second, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Catholic Faith (historical Papal Title) remains Sovereign until She is called out of this life. Who will succeed Her depends on which member of the line of succession is alive at the time.

  13. as soon as poss as long as its not charley
