When is the next meteor shower in 2008??

What day is it on, what time, and will I be able 2 see it, I live in Oklahoma??

According to StarDate Online, the next shower should be on August 12. I'm in Oklahoma, too, so I hope we both can see it!

The site also lists the major showers for the rest of the year, the dates, and the phases of the moon at the time. For example, for the 12th, the moon will be a quarter and will set at about 2 am, so the shower will be more visible between 2 am and dawn, since moonlight drowns out the light from the shower. This is also why astronomers recommend going to a dark spot away from city lights to look at the night sky.

July 17 through August 24 the Perseids are visible.  The peak viewing time is about August 12 - 13.  There is no reason you shouldn't be able to see them in Oklahoma.
