  1. Meteor showers are not local events, a meteor shower in Ohio is visible elsewhere as well.

There are over 40 meteor showers each year, but only about half a dozen that are significant.

    The next strong showers are:

    - South Delta Aquarids, Jul 12 to Aug 19 (peak is Jul 28), estimated at about 20/hour

    - Perseids, Jul 17 to Aug 24 (peak is on Aug 12), estimated at about 90/hour

After that, there are no major showers until the Geminids, Dec 7 to Dec 17 (peak around Dec 14) at about 120/hr.

  2. Important shower known as Persieds peaks on12th Aug.
