As I live outside UK, I don't know when is the nearest bank holiday coming.....I'm travelling to Holland, so would like to avoid on its holiday so it would be less crowded. I mean, I like to travel on normal weekdays.

  1. May day bank holiday in the UK is always the first Monday of the month so in this this May 5th

NL doesn't have Mayday as a holiday but do have a national holiday on the 30th April to celebrate the Queen's birthday and then shops/banks etc are closed.  The major towns are very busy with people "celebrating" and most towns have people selling goods on the pavement (somewhat akin to a car boot sale but on a larger scale).  A lot of fun to see but not much fun if you need to travel for business.  Also take care as some companies/transport routes close early the night before

  2. The next UK bank hoilday is Monday 5th May dont know of national holiday in Holland
