When is the correct time of year to plant them?? I would guess about now since all the berrys that were on the vines i was picking form have dryed up and fell off. Any ideas or sugestions?? Thanks

  3. Blackberry seed requires stratification and is best sown in early autumn in a cold frame. Stored seed requires one month stratification at about 3 degrees C and is best sown as early as possible in the year. Prick out the seedlings when they are large enough to handle and grow on in a cold frame. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring of the following year.

  4. Try planting them in a pot first. Blackberries are usually grown from root cuttings or from plants sets. If the seeds did sprout and grow they could be transplanted to where you want them. Anybody who has berry plants probably has them attempting to spread right now. Take the cuttings when the plant is dormant and replant and keep watered.
