ept say they can detect pregnancy 5 days before your period is due i got a positive 4 days before but always a high chance of false negative doing it before your periods missed, so best wait till your late

I think the most advanced pregnancy test these days let you test 5 days before your missed period.

there are HPTs u can take 10 days after u ovulate.(if u know when that was). i would wait until ur a couple of days late tho

5 days before your missed period. Depending on the test you buy. it picked mine up 8 days before my missed period so if you think you are buy a test and take it. Most of them come in 2 packs now.

I actually got a positive HPT test about a week before I was due to start my period, it was very faint though. I don't think that's necessarily the "norm". But if you are close and impatient you can go ahead and take a test, just don't be convinced yet if it shows a negative.

For me, I found that First Response Early Results Preg. Test showed positive results more quickly than some other tests.

The soonest you can find out is five days before your expected period.  You need to purchase a high sensitivity test such as First Response Early Results.  IF you test five days early and it is negative, retest in two days if you don't want to wait for your missed period.  IF still negative you can test in two more days which would be like the day after your period should have started.  I just tested five days early and I got a fain positive, the next day I tested again and it was a dark positive.  I went to the doctor and had blood work to confirm the pregnancy.
