  1. The equinox is when the sun is perpendicular to the equator and the day is exactly 12 hours long everywhere on earth.

    This happens twice a year, on about the 22nd of September and 22nd of March.

    Because you live in the southern hemisphere, your 'spring' equinox will be on the 22nd of September. Note that the equinox can be on the 21, 22 or 23, depending on the leap year.


  2. Australia has their spring equinox the same day that we who are above the equator have our Fall equinox...in September.
