I am planning a trip to Oahu next year. I would like to know what month the water is calmest at Shark's Cove for snorkeling. Thank you.

  1. The morning is the best time before the tide starts to come in late afternoon and churns the water up.

    Shaka!

  2. If I was looking for calm waters then I would go to Haunauma Bay on the East Coast. It is a little walk but is a cool Snorkle. Between the 2 I would probably go to Sharks Cove. Be aware that not everybody is happy that Haole's are there.

  3. Sorry!  It's pretty rough out there in Shark's Cove! The best time to go anywhere in Hawaii is in the Winter months, because the weather is still nice, and the sets of the waves aren't as strong.  So, as close as you can to the winter months is perfect.  There's this other very nice snorkeling spot, called Hanauma Bay on the East shore, and it's a nature preserve, and there are nice creatures to see snorkeling!  Hope this helped!  Hope you are able to come and visit!
