When is the world "supposed" to end?

I was watching a show last night on discovery channel about the Mayan's, and according to them the world will come to an end on December 21st, 2012.

This really intrigued me, and made me wonder what other theories are out there?

I bet you $1000 that the world will not end 12/21/12! The Mayans did really not say anything about 2012 or doomsday. It is sad to hear that Discovery has become Nonsense Channel. This 12/21/12 has no real basis. No one really knows when any of the cycles on the Mayan calendar begin or end, so no one can arrive at such a precise date as 12/21/12 for the end of any of the many cycles on that calendar. The end of a calendar cycle is not doomsday, even if we did know anything about the Mayan calendar. There are no scientific theories about this stuff. It is just ignorant tales.

The world's end will be sometime around the sun's supernova.  If you are talking about the world of human reality, well I see that ending and beginning new each and every day.  The world you were born in no longer exists and now the world you exist in at this moment will end and a new moment will begin. If you are talking about some hypothetical end to mankinds whole existence on this planet, who really knows?  Any theories can only be proved or disapproved in the actual event itself.  And if you are smart you already have a way to leave this place for someplace more secure.

No i think if the world becomes more balanced ,when the time the balancing of the world comes to trial and are thought in our thinking ...i dont know i just have a feeling are thoughts are changing this world.

we are all divided against each other and in ourselfes we got to think of ourselfes as a whole ...today we dont love are neighbore or ourselfes this gots to change

The world ends for someone each time a person dies.  If you are asking about the end of all human life, it will probably be a comet or very large meteor.  How could the Mayans possibly predict the end of human life?
