  1. Haha..anytime!

But seriously, if you do not enjoy those sand fleas, then go during winter time, but it will be extremely cold against the South Carolina coast....hey, you win some, you lose some.  Those d**n sand fleas makes you wanna rip off your own skin so they can have their feast without you feeling them!

And correction...it is 13 weeks of h**l, not including the extra week(s) you are there waiting for training day 1.

  2. No matter what, Marine Boot Camp is going to be the toughest 12 weeks of your life. And that is considered the easiset part of your marine career.

  3. I would not go between April and July if your in the north, just do to humidity.  I went in late August-It was ok, hot to start off-but I would recommend it.

  4. I'm with RekonDog.  When it's warm outside, the sand fleas are almost unbearable.  When it's too cold for them, it's probably too cold for you, too.  I lost track of the number of times we sat outside freezing our arses off because we got somewhere early or had to wait our turn (for hours) to go inside somewhere.  I was there from January through April, and in the beginning the cold made me more miserable than the DI's ever could.  Then it warmed up, and it was torture to be trying to drill and have the sand fleas eating you alive and just having to stand there and let them.  I guess you just have to pick your battles.  If you like cold weather, go in the winter.  If you want an idea of what the bugs will be like, spray yourself down with sugar water, go stand at attention in a wet, mosquito ridden area, and force yourself to stay perfectly still without swatting at them.  If you get eaten alive and it doesn't bother you but the cold does, spring/summer is your time.

  5. august.  think heat, think bugs (sand fleas).

ADD:  it's 70 in san diego right now.  i moved from florida to the west coast to enlist, specifically to avoid parris island.  never sorry i did.

  6. January to December!

YOU think that you are going to summer camp?!

  7. Probably the summer as there is a lot of heat, humidity and sand fleas.

Besides that, though, is the fact that there is NO good time to be there! IT'S BOOT CAMP! LOL
