When it's time to enter a plea, what happens if you don't plea anything?

You don't plea guilty, you don't plea not guilty, and you don't plea no contest, you just tell the judge that you are not going to plea. What will happen in a non-criminal (speeding ticket) case? What will happen in a criminal case? Will the judge enter not-guilty for you and try you? Can they hold you in contempt of court?

    Expect a lawyer to enter a plea on your behalf in a federal prosecution.

  2. I suspect that the judge will enter a "Not guilty" plea for you!  Check the state court procedures for information.  Or, ask someone who's working in the courtroom.

  3. well if your undecided then the judge is most likey gona force you to take it to trial. and for now he will put a not guily plea in for you till you decide
