All the focus seems to be on stopping something that A) May or may not have been caused by us and B) most likely isn't stoppable. Why is there no focus on preparedness of the future climate of the World?

  1. Common sense tells you, you can not stop natural.  But if you admit something is Natural, you can not blame the United States for it, as they now do.

  2. First of all, there is no doubt (except in the delusions of the so-called "skeptics") that human actions are causing global warming. Despite their lies, scientists identified (and proved) the causes of global warming--which is almost entirely due to burning fossil fuel and deforestation.  And since we caused it--we can stop it.

But the paid posters hired by the oil companies continue to try to spread false information anyway--so that people will keep relying on their obsolete technology. You do know that these date from the 1800s and this is the 21st century?

Modern methods of energy production are not only clean--they are cheaper.  They will require investment--but that's not a "cost"--it will create new jobs and economic growth and cut consumer costs in the long run.

Even if global warming were not a major problem, it is simply stupid to continue to waste money on a technology that is out-dated when we have better methods of producing energy available.

By that logic, we should ignore all the computers and the Internet and go back to using typewriters and adding machines. That's about what you are suggesting.

  3. Global Warming is not happening , and definitely the way the Left thinks it is. The CO2  is a very heavy gas and difficult to measure it. it is more important what is the level of oxygen. It is 20.9% and if it drops below 19.5 % U will pass out. Then the billions of cubic ft. they calculate is out there it should not be hard to find. Where is it, I can not find it.

  4. Please don't just listen to one political group or another. Please do research for yourself. Climate Change is real. The Global Warming portion of it is the dangerous part.

The Center for Disease Control has warnings regarding what will transpire in the next 2 years at the rate we are going.

It may be a natural phenomenon, but it is being sped along by the damage we are doing to the Mother Earth. If healing herself of all this pain means throwing us off or under, then that is what will happen.

We must move quickly to reduce Carbon Emissions, stop ripping down hundreds of acres of forest and trees at such a god awful pace. We must Stop drilling any and every place as deep as we can go.

Why do you think Mars is getting so much money poured into it? The suckers with all the money are looking for a habitat since they have nearly killed this one!

  5. Wow, reading comprehension on this site is low!  It's simple really:  The dire warnings are blown way out of proportion.  The Earth warmed, on average, less than 1 degree C over a 150 year period.  How prepared did people have to be to survive it??  We can expect gradual beach erosion if the seas rise the full 24 inches projected...insurance premiums will prevent most from constructing new homes directly on the coastline at sea level.  We can expect some places to get a little more rain, some to get less...averaged out over years.  They'll expand drainage and irrigation, respectively.  There's not much man NEEDS to do to enjoy a warmer climate.  We MUST, however, stay ever vigilant of those in power who wish to steal our liberties, freedom, and property.

  6. Because we can stop it, if we change our lifestyles. But it's true we do have to prepare for the future, but we don't know how global warming is going to change the planet. Also there aren't that many people in the government who care so much about global warming that they are going to start preparing.

  7. The " sky is falling crowd" are losing credibilty.

Their focus is on scaring you out of your liberties and letting big government make decisions for you by force.

  8. i SAY WE CUT DOWN ALL OF THE TREES AND BURN THE UP WITH LOSTS OF GASOLINE.

  9. There is some focus on coping with the effects.

But we can reduce those effects greatly (but can't eliminate them) at less cost than trying to just cope.

Unlike the reality of global warming, the proper balance between reduction and coping is a worthy topic of debate.  But 100% one way or the other is foolish.  Scientific fact.
