  1. Part of the reason that there is not more public acclaim for the humor in the NASCAR-related commercials is that the majority of Americans know about 2 drivers (88 and 24).

We (fans) find them hilarious because we watch the race, the pre-race, the interviews, read NASCAR Scene, etc.

I had to explain to my mom that Jimmie Johnson is not a Robin Hood handyman, but a driver. She still didn't get it.

  2. The Jamie McMurray commercial is the best thing I have ever seen in my life, I mean putting aside from the fact that I may just be his biggest (and only) fan.  I could DIE every time he said "No no that's slight of hand, this is magic"  The commercials are all so great.  It's like each year there are better ones.  I could watch the Waltrip ones all day, someone should give that guy an Oscar.

  3. No. Just no.

  4. I would agree. I also thought the Nextel commercial with Jamie Mac and Kasey Kahne "that's not magic, that's slight of hand."

  5. Yes some of the commercials they do are funny, I loved the one last year, where they were tearing up each others car in the garage area...and then would turn their backs when Jr or Gordon walked in, like little kids caught with their hands in the cookie jars.

  6. I'm a Tony Stewart fan, and I have refinished a lot of furniture and painted a lot of walls.  I still love the mental image of a "faux-finished" car, and that line "bolder than *eggplant*?"

Also, if Michael Waltrip could drive as well as he endorses, he'd make everyone forget all about his brother.

Sprint Cup is full of good-looking guys who have a pretty good sense of humor about things (they kind of *have* to), so it gives sponsors and directors lots to work with.

  7. Those commercials weren't funny at all. I'm not saying I don't like Jamie Mac but I was left with my mouth wide open and a dumb look on my face when I was done watching those.

  8. I still want to see Tony Stewart do a panty hose commercial, like Joe Namath did in the '70's
