When it comes to a car what does flex fuel mean?

I was looking at cars and they all say that..I just want to know what it means..and is it a good thing..bad thing.

  1. It means you can use regular gas or E85. Not sure of the price differece between the two. I think E85 is cheaper. I also think you get the same performance.


  2. Flex fuel cars are made to burn  E10 normal gas of up to 10% ethenol to E85 gas which is 85% ethenol or any mixture in between... Most cars made know are flex fuel compatible..

  3. it is a good thing.......flex fuel vehicle,s can use regular gasoline or e85 ethanol...[ 85% ethanol/15% gasoline]....which is less expensive than standard gasoline...at this point that is all the choice you have unless you have a diesel engine....hope this help,s...good luck!
