OK, we have no prenup, been married since Feb '06, living in California, I don't work, but my question is, when I file for a divorce, do I ask for half of what the person has made throughout the marriage, or what he has at the moment the divorce is filed. I have absolutelly no Idea. Thank you in advanced.

  1. You ask for half of what you both have laeft at the divorce date. Not half of what he made, I am assuming most of that has been spent?

  2. K-You got married in 2-06 don't work & want 1/2

He supported your asss & you want 1/2 you have no right he kept you off the street.

You ask for nothing get a divorce find a job & support your own asss

    for a change.

  3. your not a gold digger, things happen. but do ask for only what he made during your marriage.

  4. No, it does not work that way.

You have not been married long enough to even get half of his retirement, if he has one.

More than likely you would get spousal support for a while until you find a job to support yourself with.

You don't get to ask for anything.  Property obtained during your marriage will be split 50/50.  Furniture, dishes etc.

  5. Why don't you just worry about getting a job?   Wouldn't you feel like a bum spending his money?  I never did get why women can be so greedy.  Now if he cheated on you and hurt you I can understand but besides that don't be a loser.

  6. Hope you never get married again...gold digger! What he owned before your beautiful marriage is his. What you've accumulated in debt and assests is 50/50...So if you owe more money than you have...you get zilch...Stay out of the marriage stuff will you! Take Care
