  1. I would simply go with ring bearer. I have never heard of bearette. It is not a real word and sounds like a baby bear. I have not heard of usherette used in years either. Even female ushers are simply called ushers in the 21st century.

  2. flower girl

  3. how about a

    ring girl

    ring maiden

  4. i would just do "ring bearer"

  5. Hi.

According to the dictionary, an USHER is simply the "one who escorts persons to their seats (as in a theater)".

The same with RING BEARER.  In the dictionary, it is listed as "one who carries the rings in a wedding ceremony."

So....simply list the name after "ring bearer"....NOT "ring bearerette."  If it was me,

I would do the same for the usher.  I would simply list it as usher.....not usherette.

    Usher:  Sally Jones

    Ring bearer:  Megan Smith

  6. Grammatically speaking, it is a ring bearer regardless of whether it is a girl or boy.  It's like most other nouns that describe what people do (swimmer, runner, teacher, etc.)  I know some things like actor/actress, waiter/waitress, etc. are probably throwing you off the track, but they are the exception, not the rule.

  7. Ring bearer is gender neutral. If you want to get different, call her the ring carrier.

And a female usher is still just an usher. The word usherette is pretty much gone from the lexicon.

  8. I would just call her the "ring girl" or "ring bearer."  I think "ring bearer" is gender neutral, don't you?  And can't everyone tell by her name that she is a girl?
