Big Oil and convience stores are making big money selling gas, so they can afford to offer better service and thanks to their gas customers by offering free wine and cheese when they fill up, or maybe a free toaster with a $100 fill up?

  1. Because the station isn't making any money on the gas.....my uncle owns a gas station.  Trust me.  He makes more money on Coca-cola.

  2. Sounds like they just need to give you cheese.

    You've already got the "whine".

It costs me $600 per DAY, to fill up my vehicle. It's a work truck, and I don't get compensated for it.

    So, I would welcome a $100 fillup.

Nevermind that gas prices aren't that bad:

Once you properly calculate for inflation, they're about where they always have been.

  3. Gas stations are not really making much money by selling gas itself. According to recent news, Exxon Mobil is about to close their business.

  4. Because that will cost  money ...and the the profits  will be less.  Pay them back.!!!..Buy Gas daily( divide you gas needs in 7 days), and every day - after  you get your daily Gas  do NT forget to leave in the GARBAGE Can by the PUMP -your household Garbage  that you and your family creating  day by day, at home. ( I am retired- where I live for my GARBAGE removal- I suppose to pay $2.00 a BAG I have to pre- buy special stamped GARBAGE bags so the Household GARBAGE can be removed,- My household garbage Dilly is 2 Bags or a little bit Less- My Dilly GAS needs today is around $6.00- So I go in one Gas Station I put $3.00 worth of Gas and I leave behind me one GARBAGE back , then I go to another Gas Station and I put another  $3.00 GAS and I leave behind me  the 2nd bag of GARBAGE..So Dilly putting $6.00 GAS ...I save $4.00 in GARBAGE REMOVAL.   Of course for this operation I do n't use the special Printed Bags that costs $2.00 each.)

  5. Gas stations make their money out of the things they sell other than the gasoline.  That's why Exxon is getting out of the gas station business.  On the other hand, your government is make lots of money off of each gallon (several times that that the oil companies make), and they aren't doing a thing to earn it, as opposed to the oil companies who procure, process, explore (even though we won't let them drill when they find it), etc.

  6. $100 (£50) i wish.

    Try it in the U.K (£80) $160.

Free cheese and wine, Pa! make it cheaper.

Perhaps a few more hidden and capped American oil wells should be opened to aid supply, so pushing barrel prices down.

  7. Yes, you would think.  But gas stations are making something like 5 cents to 10 cents on a gallon.  So on 20 gallon fill up, they only make $1 to $2 profit.

So little money that Exxon is considering selling off the RETAIL STATION section because Exxon says that they actually LOSE money running the stations.

    WOW !

    Good Luck...

  8. my friend owns a chevron station...she makes 4 to 6 cents a gallon...she sells gas to get you in to buy cigarettes and beer [and soda]  markup on those items is 75 to 100%

  9. no they shouldnt!

its not their fault you have a gas gussler.

suck it up and move on or do something productive about it.
