  1. i like the cheapest i can find. money is hard to come by these days. i just use that sauce as a base then i add what ever i have.


  2. I don't know of anyone that uses store bought sauce.

    I grow my own tomatoes. It'd be a dark day when I use a canned pasta sauce.

  4. The last time my grandma made me spaghetti, she used Ragu.  I was devastated.

  10. There is a local company named "Sclafani" which is in my town & it is the brand I buy.  It is the closest to homemade.

  11. I don't know either.  I use Prego Garden Vegetable?  My mom made the best homemade sauce & she wasn't even Italian.

  14. I don't think this is possible.  Maybe a sauce from a local restaurant, but not the supermarket.

    an industrial production of food produces "american food-style", that isn't properly good...

My girlfriend is half-Italian... her Mom was Italian, and her Mom NEVER used anything but homemade from scratch... but we actually like Paul Newman's Vodka sauce.... the thing is, we always add our own stuff to it... we start off by adding fresh garlic to hot olive oil, then the marinara sauce, then we add Italian spices, French herbs, fresh mushrooms.... this is just an easy way to eat spaghetti and meatballs after we both have been working all day.... but my girlfriend makes an eggplant parmigiana from scratch... oh, wow... you'd think you'd died and gone to heaven... or Florence....   ;-)

  19. Now italian mothers are very busy because have to work so they buy a ready make one a good sauce take long time to cook. Buitoni.
