  1. I'm pretty sure they are separated (well, i'd hope so)..would be nice to think the government did their bit and didn't just rely on us

  2. If they are trash bins, then the cans/bottles are just thrown away.  There are hardly any municipalities that sort trash for recycleables.  This is why it is important to place recycleables in the appropriate recycling container.

  3. The only recycling where I live is bottles. Anything in a rest area rubbish bin is just put in with the normal rubbish. There is virtually no recycling.

Our rubbish is cleared everyday unlike the UK where it can be two weeks.

  4. They are separated...

    or so I believe

  5. Good question, cant wait for the replies, especially if its someone from the local council dept.

  6. i would think just thrown away. Going on our councils policy on recycling which is haphazard at best.

  7. It depends on the waste managment department that will recieve the garbage. In my city they go to a Materials Recovery Facility and they would be sorted. In the next city over they would be put into a landfill, fortunately the next city over has a large population of low income and homeless people, so public garbage cans usually have all the recycling removed for money.

  8. yes they can recycle them and they do and you can to
