  1. Yes it matters. the higher you jump the flatter you can hit the ball over the net. you still have to get top spin though or the ball will sail out

  2. Yes, the point of a jump serve is to get on top of the ball and get it to drop in the court at a fast pace.

  3. I think tht it does matter. I think it would make it faster.

  4. Yes, if you jump higher, then you can get over and on top of the ball more, and serve it harder, more to the ground, making it harder to return for the other team. Where you make contact with the ball greatly affects the way the ball goes and how hard the serve is.

  5. not really. just get off the ground.

  6. The jump helps, but it's the contact of the ball that's going to get you the aces.  Whether is a floater serve or a hard driven serve, how you jump has no affect on that it.  A jump serve will help the ball go over the net more aggressively.

  7. not really what matters more is how you contact the ball. if you toss the ball higher than jump higher to contact the ball with your arm fully extended

  8. The jump can help, but not completely. It's definetly better if you have a high jump so you can get on top of the ball, but it also has to do with the arm swing.both are probably the most important things in jump serving.

  9. To be able to serve really fast and in you need:

    1. Topspin

    2. Height

Contacting the ball high means that you can hit a flatter trajectory and therefore faster serve. Also, to get the optimal angle you want to contact the ball OVER the service line.

If you contact it high, and closer to the net, you can get a better angle.
