When leaving an internship what?

what do I need to get from the company to later prove that I interned there? should I ask for a letter?

You should ask them for a letter of recommendation.  It would also be a good idea to get the business card of the person who will supply the letter of recommendation just to keep it for the sake of references.  If you can't get a letter, just let them know you will put them down for a reference.  The company you are interviewing from will check to prove you interned there Good luck.
