I personally don't care for carpet. It's so much easier to have linoleum floors and throw rugs that can be easily maintained. Carpets, on the other hand, hold dust, dirt, and all kinds of nasty things we can't see but know is there. What's your opinion on this?

  1. Bare floors.  So much prettier and so much easier to clean.

  2. I like both. Growing up my parents had beautiful wood floors which we pitched in and did ourselves. Lots of hard work involved.The apartment I live in now has wall to wall carpeting and i do like it 'cause it keeps the place warmer in winter. Yeah, I do undertand about the nasty things that live in carpeting, but  I don't have allergies, and vaccuum often.

  3. Do not like carpet. Wood, tile or vinyl with throw rugs.

  4. I like the bare floors because they are easier to keep clean.  The throw rugs I have are the large ones that stay put, but can be removed for a good cleaning.

  5. No carpet, it can be stinky, pets, kids, spills, stink that you don't realize until a humid day EWWWWWW.. Carpet, padding,  stink galore!!

    I prefer hardwood floors. It always looks clean and cared for.

  6. I don't like carpet. When I have rented apartments, my carpet has always been nice, however when I have rented houses, the carpet has been nasty , and landlords are unwilling to pay anything to improve the house. In process of getting rid of every inch of carpet out of my house now.. putting in laminate floors..

  7. I love carpet and so far every place that I have rented in the past I always got new carpet layed for me before I moved into it. I also always put throw rugs on the floors where ever the high traffic was at. I hated walking on a bare floor in the winter time.

  8. I prefer hard floors. There's no telling what body fluids lurk in rental property carpets.

  9.   I agree with you   no carpets.

  10. I agree with you, carpets can definitely be dirtier, but sometimes if kept clean can be very comfortable. :}

  11. without

  12. I don't like carpets either but am very particular what is on the floors.  And in this house, I couldn't stand the carpeting and just ripped it out and have concrete floors.  I haven't even painted it and don't care whether I do or not.  I've kinda become accustomed to it.  I've decided to put down the tile that looks like wood but is long rather than square and looks a lot like wood but will stand my life style of lots of animals and foot prints and mud and sand.  Carpets smell and actually are filthy and make me sneeze.  I've also gotten rid of heavy drapes and lots of curtains.  Just dust catchers and have gone to throw away blinds or wooden shutters.  I've just switched to leather furniture too so you can wipe it off and it doesn't accumulate the dust mites of the ages.  I'm so tired of being allergic to everything

  13. I prefer hardwood floors.
