When looking for colleges what would i look for if i wan to be a special ed. teacher or just teacher?

so i would like to know how long do u go to college for? what wouldi be like what college am i supposed to go to like umm what is it that i am supposed to get what is the course called? also what if i just want to be a elementary teacher? what do i go to school for? i mean colllege?

Depending on where you are located some of the basics are a 4 year college degree with at least a semester of student teaching.  Once you have your degree you need to get your license which in some states can require some additional PRAXIS exams to determine your core knowledge - in order to get your license you need to achieve a certain score.

I would suggest that you start with whatever state university is nearest to you to see what your requirements are.
