When love loses its meaning?

yeahh ppl just throw that word around now;; its not even nothing special anymore. like if u just begin dating a guy [or girl] all of the sudden they supposedly "love you" =====> what happened to the days when the word ACUTUALLY meant something ? lol does anyone agree? or is it jus me :O

A lot of people say they love you when what they really mean is I love this feeling of infatuation.

Words are are rocks that lose their shape with time and over use. They become so slippery that you can hardly hold on to them. When your son tells you that he simply loves his bike, or the wife tells you that she loves your tie, or in church the minister asks: Do you love Jesus? The word 'love' has many different meanings.

And not everyone means the same thing when they say this word.   You need to look at the context in order to understand what people mean when they say 'love'.

If the dating relationship is new.  And the couple don't know each other well.  Then love in their context probably means feelings for affection.  But in a longer and better established relationship, the word love may mean commitment and marriage.

Well back "then" people only said "i love u" when they really meant it...but now people "OH, i love that shirt" or "I love ur tie!"...So really ur right...love has lost its meaning...when things r goin to fast in a relationship, they say that, when they really dont mean it!...So "love" has lost its meaning and we just totally ignore it!

oh me deff! how can you love someone when you dont even know them..? ******* someone doesnt mean you love them, if you cant even commit to a relationship can you seriously love that person? it angers me, and real love doesnt just go away.

I think people Just get into things that they are not sure of, or are just too young. Thats why this happens. If you love someone, than love isnt even a word, its just something that happens and you dont even have to talk about, like your best friend
