For example, does it have to be:

Name

Street

Flushing, Queens, NYC, NY

Zip Code

or can I omit the Flushing or Queens part?

  1. As long as the zip code is correct it will get there, name plus zip = mail

  2. You should use Flushing, NY, then the zip code. No need to put Queens.

  3. If you have the zip code, it will find its way.

I'm sure the NYC, NY part is enough.

  4. For Queens addresses, you don't put Queens at all. You just use the section of Queens as if it were it's own city (because at one time it was, and the post office never changed it).

    So you'd put.

    Name

    Street

    Flushing, NY

    Zip code.

You don't need to put Queens or NYC. For postal purposes you treat Flushing like it's own city - Flushing, NY.

  5. It will get there if you use only the name, street address, and zip code. As long as the zip code is correct.

  6. I think the most important thing is the zip code.  You could probably flush the queens altogether.

  7. You can do it all. However the zip code is a very important part as that is how the post office knows the area where it is being mailed to.  It gets there faster also.
