  1. ask questions

body language-eye contact, nod your head.

  2. nodding your head

repeating important facts that were stated

  3. make good eye contact.

repeat important points that they raise and be respectful.

Despite what a lot of sales training says don't use a first name unless invited to do so.

I lost count of the reps who heard my staff call me by my first name and chose to do it them selves without being invited to do so.

It wouldn't have mattered what they were selling they had no chance of me even giving them the time to make their pitch.

  4. Use the person's name often.

Repeat back important points that the other person is making to be sure you understand them.

  5. When making a sales call it is important to first sound energetic and professional. Have a list of questions or even a script handy and don't sound like you are reading off of a que card.

Incorporate active listening skills during th conversation asking questions again, repeating high points back to the client and engage in related dialog to show that you are both listening and in tune with the subject.

    Good Luck...
