When making cards, how do you come up with your message?

I mean obviously we all add personal touches, but the cards at the stores have little poems or cute messages on the inside, when you make cards at home how do yuo come up wiht your message?

  1. There are some books that have a whole list of things you can write on the inside of cards.  I haven't really started using those yet, but I have some that I want to start using.  Sometimes I go to the internet--there are tons of quote sites.  I also buy vellum phrases and vellum stickers that I put on the inside.  I also have some stamps that I use occasionally. Or I just write something really simple before I sign my name.


  2. When I want to write a personal message for a card, I usually think first about who exactly it's for. Everybody's different, so the message should be unique for each person depending on thier personality. If they like to be funny, write a funny rhyme or joke. If the person likes heartfelt things, right something that would mean a lot to them. It all really depends on the person.

    Just do a little brainstorming and think about what they would like in a card. It also depends on what it's for; a birthday, get well card, father's/mother's day, holiday, etc....

    You'll find that making cards and messages is easier once you get a little creative.
