I am making a potato salad recipe (not the typical type, this has olives, radishes, etc. SO GOOD). Because I have to wait for the potatoes to cool before I can mix everything (baby red potatoes with skin ON), can I stick them in the fridge to quicken the cooling process?? Or is this bad??

  1. I'd run cold water over them first; put the pot in the sink.

  2. I use the cold running water while they are still in the boiler after they are done. I like my potatoes still a bit warm when mixing all ingredients together.

If you still have the skins on, you may try cubing them first.

  3. Def cube them up and boil, drain and rinse with cold water. Then drain again and lay flat on a baking sheet. Put them in the fridge for about 30 min and they will cool down right away.

  4. be patient

  5. After boiling, place them under cold running water for a few minutes. That's how i do them all the time.

  6. Sure you can....just don't cut them up and place plastic wrap over them as they will dry out.

  7. I don't know, I make my potato salad the way my grandma taught me, and that is to mix everything together while the potatoes are still warm ! YUMMY !

  8. I always add the dressing to HOT potatoes, so that it soaks into them.... whether I'm using a mayonnaise dressing or a vignarette dressing

  9. i soak them in room temp water if the skin is on
