  1. Yes you need to cook the sausages first. I think I might make one now, you've made me hungry.

  2. no need to cook the sausages first ..if you do they will overcook or even burn

  3. yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Only cook them a little bit though maybe for 10mins just to give them a start off! othersiwe your sausages will be overdone by the time you have added batter then put them back in oven again.enjoy!!

  5. frog in the bog is better

  6. Fry them for a few mins in a frying pan so they colour up or they'll look a bit pale and unappetising! Then when they're mostly cooked through, put them in the batter and the cooking process will do the rest.

  7. yes cook sausages first

  8. i love toad in the hole!!!!!

just brown the sausages first to get them going.  put them in the tin you are going to use to do the toad in the hole so that as they brown the fat comes out of them into the tin and you can use that fat instead of anything else because it gives the batter a lovely flavour. just make sure it is really hot before adding the batter mix

  9. No you have to cook the toads first.  Remember to skin and gut them, to stop them jumping out of the frying pan.

  10. Yes, I think it's nicer to cook them a little first.

I usually put the sausages in the dish the toad in the hole will be cooked, into a cold oven, turn the oven on and by the time the oven is hot the sausages are done enough without browning, and the fat will start to run, then pour the batter over and finish cooking.

Saves having to wash up the frying pan and wasting the fat.

  11. you DO  NOT need to cook the sausages first.

get the fat in the roasting tin nice and hot, add batter, sausages, bake for 30 minutes or so. yum yum

  12. yeah cook the sausages for about 10 mins then add the batter mix.... also make t e batter mix in the morning and let it stand in fridge for a few hours then whisk it up a bit just before you use it, makes it going really yummy,

  13. Yes you need to brown them first for 10-15 minutes depending how thick they are. Also you must make sure the roasting tin is really hot when you add the batter otherwise it wont work properly.

  14. Poor b/f's health is on a knife-edge.
