im not sure but is it thermal energy or chemical energy

  1. In a chemical reaction, heat is generally either absorbed or released, so the answer is thermal.

    If the reaction is nuclear, energy may be thermal, electromagnetic (γ,β,π) or momentum (α,β). using β to indicate an electron as particle or wave and π for a photon.
