When my eyes are open why does one eye lid stay more open than the other?

It seems one eye lid is heavier than the other because it is shut more than the other. I think i have that same eye problem with that one black actor that comes out in some famous movies. Could it be lazy eye lid? LOL

  1. No, it's "drooping eyelid" or "ptosis". (Are you talking about Forest Whitaker?)

It can be congenital; occur with aging; have to do with a weak muscle of the upper lid.

You ought to go to the MD if it affects your vision...the only real treatment is surgery, but has some possible complications.

Best to google:  drooping eyelid & read from site "allaboutvision.com"

    Hope this helps.

  2. It can be congenital, but if this is new for you, you should get it checked out by an optometrist or ophthalmologist, especially if your pupils are different sizes.
