  1. Perhaps you need to read a bit more of your book.  However, Congress means the House of Representatives and the Senate.  Good luck on your constitution test

  2. Congress is the Legislative Branch of our Government (we have three branches: Judicial (courts), Legislative, and Exectutive (president, governors ect.).  They are all suppose to balance one another but in recent times the executive branch has gained far to much power through things called executive orders which the president can issue, these executive orders have been used by many 20th-21st century presidents to get things their way.

But back on track, the congress is made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Each states gets 2 senators and a number of representatives depending on how many districts and people they have in the state. They both act in similar ways but the Senate is usually more federal based in the bills they attempt to pass while the house tends to deal with more state-bound issues. If a bill makes it through congress through a vote then is ends up on the president's desk in which he can veto (say no) or sign it. The same is done for bills the president attempts to pass they have to go through the congress.

oh and the fact that the congress has the ability to coin money has be taken away, they stupidly signed that away to the federal reserve which is not part of the government but makes all of our currency. but that's another lesson.

    /end of lesson

  3. The new congress of 2006 could be classified as "do nothing congress" Plus liar's, they lied and got elected and have not kept not one promise they made.

  4. congress is made up of the senate and the house of representatives.

for some reason in common parlance the senate is referred to as the senate and the house is congress.

  5. Congress has two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives

    They make the laws

  6. In politics, a congress ("a gathering of people") is the name of the main legislative body in a state that operates under a congressional system of government. In non-political usage congress is a term applied to a large national or international grouping of people meeting together with common interests or concerns, e.g. an academic conference. The house of reps and the senate.

  7. Congress is the legeslative branch, which makes the laws. It is made up of the House of Representitives and the Senate. The Senate generally tends to be made up of upper-class politicians, and is smaller, with 100 Senators, two from each state.

The House of Representitives is made up of other politicians, and is larger, with four hundred some Representitives. The number of Representitives per state is chosen by population and population density of the state. I think either California or New Jersey has the most Representitives, but I may be wrong.

  8. congress is the senate and house of reps combined, so they together have the power to tax, but the senators can't tax with out the house of reps and vice versa.

  9. you must be in a  public school.tell the twit that is running the class to explain it to you, that is why they get the big bucks for a part time job. obviously your teacher is failing to teach you !geezz another future dem in the making.........
