You will have to write to your network operator at giving them at least 30 days notice. If the network operator is 3 then make sure you send the letter by recorded delivery as they have a habit of ignoring requests like this from customers. Also on the cancellation letter ask them to transfer your number onto pay as you go. I hope this helps.

call your service provider one month before the contract runs out and ask them to switch the sim onto pay as you go when the contract is up

if you do not contact them they will keep running the contract until you cancel it
