Did you consider how well they tied in with your other children?

My first three seem to tie in quite well

Lola Meghan

Finn Jacob

Skye Ariadnè

But with the twins, the names dont seem to tie in so well with my other three

Isabella Morgan

Autumn Rosalie.

So

Lola

Finn

Skye

Isabella (Bella)

Autumn

Do your childrens names "tie in"?

At the time of naming each of my children i didnt consider it. But now looking at the all togther i see that the forst three tie in and fit in well togther. And the twins do on their own.

  1. From your list they are all fine. To be honest I do not look at names and say "No this name does not go together with the my other children". No, I don't care for the "tie in" step as you call it. I find that thinking of names to "fit" or "match" with your other children is really unnecessary. If you like the name go for it. Don't second guess yourself.

  2. I think your twins names tie in well! I think they're all lovely names...

  3. My daughter is Rhiannon Jaina Mary and we're expecting another little girl who will be Bethany Elizabeth Teri (with our surname starting with a H her initials will also be an abbreviation of her name!).  With Rhiannon her middle names are special to us, Mary being a family name that at least four of us in my family have and for Bethany Elizabeth is my mum's name and Teri is the girly version of my late brother in laws name.  I think they go quite well except for Rhiannon's initials not spelling anything!

  4. I have to admit, we never considered how they tie in together - but thinking about it now, they do mesh very well together.

All our kids have the same initial for one of their middle names (they each have 2 middle names), and they each have a different initial for their first names - keeping them individual.  We have "singles" and twins, and while it sounds cute to give them "matching" names, we wanted all our kids to have their very "own" first name - not just the singles, but the twins as well.

    Blessings

  5. Well actually my oldest is my stepson, and my middle son is my son from a previous marriage.  so DH and i brought two boys into our marriage together.

    Kyle David (my step son)

    and

    Brandon JonGuard

i always felt that Kyle and Brandon sounded like brothers...they are after all. they grew up together.

then DH and i had our last 2 babies,

    Delaney Josephine

    and

    Hayden Ronald

all of our kids are named for someone in mine or his family.

Kyle's middle name David is after an uncle

Brandon's middle name JonGuard is for my brother who's middle name is JonCarol, which is after my 2 grandfathers John and Carol. and Guard is after Brandon's father's grandfather.

Delaney's middle name Josephine is after my paternal great grandmother Josephine Rose.

Hayden's name is after my husband's great grandfather and his middle name Ronald is after my dad Ronald Glen.

as far as whether they "tie in" together. i dont know...

Kyle, Brandon, Delaney "Laney", and Hayden....

it sounds nice to me. lol but then...im their mother.

  6. i wanted to name all of mine A names, but with my son (our 3rd child) my husband just would not agree on any name that i picked.. :( so the girls are As and my son got an I name

  7. yes my daughters name is Leslie Rose pretty?

  8. ♥ I think the names you have are perfect. I really like them all.

My daughters name is Jaylee Morgan and I am pregnant with twins and we have not found out what they are yet. But the names we have picked out are:

Jadalyn Skye and Madalyn McKenzie (for twin girls)

Tristan James and Troy Michael (twin boys)

Jadalyn Skye and Tristan James (boy/girl twins)

*So the names my husband and I have picked out kind of tie in together.

  9. I don't really tie it in

fair enough I don't have kids but i have the names picked out and there all unusual

  10. I think your childrens names are all so gorgeous! But yes, I try to make them fit together... but what really matters is that you just love the name :)

  11. They will tie in just fine as soon as they are a part of the family! Relax, they are all beautiful!

  12. its isabella that stands out.  but bella goes well.

lola, finn, sky, bella and autumn all go very well.

    they are all pretty names.

  13. names are overated.

  14. My son's name is Spencer Charles Robert.  His middle names are for family members, the first name is for him alone.  My husband and I are hoping our next child will be a little girl and we like the name Karyn Elizabeth Brooke just because we like the names and they sound nice together as a whole.

I know our taste in names is probably not what others would pick with so many trendy names out there right now, but we prefer "old school" names that sound cute when they are kids but that they can grow into and live with professionally as adults.  We both don't really like over used and trendy names.

  15. Why do your children's names need to 'tie in'?  They will not all be under the same roof for their entire life and they need to find their own identities so give them the names that suit them and then love them and their names.

  16. I think they go great !

    my name is: Alexis Jaye

    and my nickname is Lexi

Though Lexi Jaye doesn't go so well

  17. i think all the names are beautiful. i have a friend called callum, and his brothers are called kieron and cameron, obviously their mother wanted their names to sound similar! your childrens names tie in perfectly with each other though, enough so they flow when you list them, but also original enough so you're children can be individuals :) good job xx

  18. My children are

    James Matthew

    Joanna Louise

    and twins

    Ryan Jay

    and

    Rachel Claire

    xx

  19. I think the names you have are fine. I am pregnant with my first child, but I think that people tie in their children's names without realizing they are doing it! My sister and brother are Rebecca and Roman and my name is Cherise (Reese as a nickname) and my parents didn't do that on purpose it just happened!

  20. I actually disagree with you. I think that all of your names tie in with each other. They are names that aren't too much alike, but are not too much different either. They go very nicely together.

I don't have children yet, but when I do I want their names to tie in together. Like yours.

    Hope I helped! :-)

  21. each child is an individual i do not think it is necessary to keep them all the same letter or matchy because they all will have their own identities.since so many kids today are actually only half siblings it makes even less sense.

just give them their own names that will be for them.

i do not care for the name skye-- i don't  even know what the middle name is supposed to be sorry, all the others are quite nice!!! good luck!

  22. I think they flow really well, if Isabella was just shortened to Bella, as its just long compared to the other names. But Autumn's prefect and I love it.

  23. kirsty craig,  molly mellisa

i think my mum went with the sounds of the beging the same 2 oldest with a K C sounds nthe 2 youngest with a M ?

  24. I think Autumn ties in

Isabella is different but very beautiful so it goes with the others on that front!

  25. I think all your children's names tie in except for Finn.  That just sounds so......foreign?  The others are pretty and go well together.

My children's names don't seem too weird from each other.  I did make up one of my daughter's names, so the meaning behind them is as far apart as it gets.  Kristan's is traditional--I named her after my two best friends, Krystan and Kristin.  Jarzi's name was completely made up, but it's not so weird that it looks like something you'd name an alien.

Don't worry about it.  Your children will be fine with their names.

  26. I've only got one so far so haven't had that question.

He's called Arthur so if we have any more I'd choose traditional names which would fit with Arthur, such as Harry, George, Rose etc.

  27. Lola, Finn and Skye go very well together (I love Lola and Ariadne by the way). I like it when sibsets go well, and Lola, Finn, Skye, Isabella and Autumn go pretty well together in my opinion. Isabella sticks out slightly, but she may pick up a nickname like Issy or Ella which would go better.

If you love the names, it doesn't matter though.

  28. Name each for themselves.  They will share the last name..

  29. to me Lola doesn't fit in with the rest.. But yes when naming my children I kept to Scottish names.

  30. i think their brilliant names u want them to have their own personalities

im the youngest of 4 girls

    and our names go

    Kerry-Michelle

    Danielle-Marie

Michelle-Brigette (my parents used the same name twice and wonder why dont like our names lol)

    and me Chloe-Georgia

they dont tie in but we're all different it would be weird if they did
