When you are going somewhere by train, assuming you can have a choice of seat (ha ha!!), which sort of seat do you like?

- facing forwards or backwards?

- table or no table?

- window or aisle?

  1. Facing direction of travel.

    By a window.

Not bothered about having a table available.

  2. Window, facing forwards with a table. Any other and I feel sick.

  3. facing forward with table

  4. My choice of seat will vary by the following criteria....

Where did that fat guy with the gas problem sit?

Where did that homely lady with the screaming baby that looks like a monkey sit?

Where can I best left alone to read or watch the scenery?

Far from the first two,  as close as possible to the last.

  5. i like window seat near the end of the train.  don't ask me why but thats me.

  6. next to the window, facing forward, with a table

  7. Forwards,table,window.

  8. i would like to helo others so i will choose the backward because forwards are other ones favorite.

i prefer a table to be able to enjoy the scenes better.

window is good but if there is a nice person to talk to, i prefer to talk so the aisle could be better( watching outside during thalking to the person next to me).

indeed  everybody happy Spring. today is the first day of spring!

  9. Facing forwards, next to the window, and a table is essential,as I like to have a snack, a drink, and read magazines when travelling on a train,(but due to my having a dog,I don't really get to travel anywhere),not been outside of Manchester,(unless you count going to see a private heart specialist in Feb'06 in Liverpool)!,for 6 years now.

  10. In New York, New Jersey, Philly, when I take subway/trains, or commuter rails, I prefer forward seat because I like to face the direction of train/subways going.

    Same when I'm on lightrail.

  11. facing forward, window, table optional

  12. facing forward, no table and window i guess. that doesnt happen often though cause u always end up sittin wher u dont wana sit and squashed aswell lol

  13. Facing backwards, table is not really important but a small one is nice.

Window or aisle does not matter either, when sitting next to someone I often prefer aisle as you have more space to move, and with the windows in our European trains you are bound to have a good view across the aisle.

In some countries they turn the seats when the train changes direction, (Australia, Canada, maybe more,) I had the hardest time to convince the train staff that I really wanted to sit facing backwards and that many people do if they are given the choice.

  14. Safety would say backwards, window, no table, but it always seems to be facing, window with a table.

  15. In a sleeper car.
