When on the plane, is it just me or... ?

Do you find it really annoying when you're on the plane and:

1. The plane landed, taxied, and everyone in the rows ahead are already gone, but the people who sit in front of you take FOREVER (like 45 seconds) to get their bags out of the overhead bins, and take their sweet *** time to strut out the plane. (I've learned to sit as front as possible to avoid this)

Once, I just said excuse me and squeezed around them to get off the plane. I mean, why do people hold up like ninety people behind them, when they had all the time in the world beforehand to get their stuff.

2. Some guy decides there was no room in the overhead compartment for his 5 billion large suitcases (check them in for Christ's sake). So he rearranges everybody else's, and pushes people's bags around. I was getting pretty annoyed after he did it for about 5 minutes, and after we landed, my bag ended up 3 aisles behind my seat.

Any similar bad experiences? Or I'm unreasonably and easily ticked off.

  1. Yes. It is annoying.

    Yes. you are easily ticked off.

    It is simply a reality of flying with large groups of people.

  2. My husband and I travel a lot, internationally and domestic, and we have found that people can be very slow getting their bags from the overhead bin.  So about 7 years ago we started something new, when the plane lands, we are in no great hurry to get off, so we wait until everybody is off the plane before we get up to get off.  I usually continue to read a book, look out the window, listen to my IPOD, talk on my cell. We still meet up with the same group that was standing in the isles while we sat for 10 minutes, we meet them at baggage pick up.  In any event, they usually have to stand there looking anxious for about 5 to 10 minutes while we sit.  It makes for a easier deplaning, and no endless standing in one spot.

  3. Yeah it is really annoying when people do that, especially when they move my bag around to somewhere I didn't know about.  I've had a guy move my bag to 2 aisles away too.  weird part was that he didn't even sit near me, he just wanted to put his two huge carry- ons somewhere.  Pissed me off.

  4. No worries at all, I get annoyed very easily, I've only flown a few times, but each time has been ah orrible experience on my most recent trip to Disney land with my family, I was sitting next to the window, the person to my left would not shut up, and then this one family boarded, and we're talking big family like 12 people the WHOLE flight they were yelling to eachother, and passing things over people's heads. And when we got off, I had to wait for 10 minutes for them to get all their stuff and unboard. --;

    2 years ago when I went to Florida, not Disney though, I sat next to my mom, and on my left was some guy who didn't speak good english, and so he kept talking to me in some language, I think it was german or something, and the flight attendant was mean.

  5. yes it is annoying but I got to the point that I'm to tired to care and just want to get off the plane, and figure waiting on others just gives me a little more time to collect my thoughts before getting off the plane that helps.
