  1. Down when running in deep water. Up when you pull your boat out. Halfway in between when running SLOW in shallow water.

  2. ideally, as low as possible, unless you're leaving dock or in shallow water.

  3. I Say half way!

  4. pontoon boots are ment for comfortable slow rides so i would say nutural

  5. Some of my old nautical buddies told me that in order to have the boat proceed in an orderly fashion, the prop must be in the water and the motor/engine must be running properly.

  6. If its a deep lake, then you are safe to have it down all the way.  But, if your not sure, like you get to shallow parts, put it up out of the water.

You can even keep a pole, on the boat, and check the water dept, before lowering it into the water, (I thought a place was deep enough, and I found out that the shallows ran for 24 feet out into the  Ohio River and busted the props on my outboard and electric motor!!  I didnt have any type of stick, but, now I learned to keep a ten foot piece of pvc to check the depts in case I am in too close.

    I wish you well..

  7. depends on how you want the boat to plane out.

  8. When in Deep water keep it all the way down....when in shallow water it is best to manually stay by the  prop and keep an eye on your clearance...when you ar just sitting idle of docking...put it up....

  9. the reason your boat has "trim" (prop up and down) is to make your boat cruise without using so much fuel.  When you start, the trim is all the way down.  As you start to plane (skip over the water) pull your trim up.  The front of your boat will raise and less of your boat will be in the water.  The end result of this is that the drag on your boat from the water will be less.  Your boat will be faster and more fuel efficent.  This answer is based on over 40 years of boating experience.  Have Fun
