I am planning to pan fry some catfish fillets tonight. I usually bake them but want to change it up tonight. Some of the fillets are a thick and I want to make sure they get done all the way through. How can I make sure they are done? Also, should I flip the fish or just let it cook with the bottom of the fish to the pan?

  1. fish doesnt need a lot of time to cook all the way through, just brown/scorch it on either side, you can pad it with a spoon or spatula, if the fish is springy, its cooked.

dont overcook or it will fall apart into pieces.

use medium heat, (electric 4/6 or half gas)

  2. i would bread the catfish first to fry it. with flour then egg, then panko or crushed crackers mixed with flour

put the fish in the pan on medium heat, let it fry on one side until it is golden brown. flip it and let it fry on the other side for the same amount of time.....golden brown. take the biggest fillet out of the pan when it is brown and stick a toothpick in it. wiggle the toothpick and if it starts to flake the fish then it is done. if not, stick it back in the pan for a few more minutes.

  3. I just cooked fish on my george forman grill. Best fish I ever ate cooked perfect, oh but couldnt you just cut the fish in half when you think its done and see?

  4. time each side...fish cooks real fast
