Taking the test this week, but some tell me that you MUST keep two hands on the wheel when you parallel park, but others say that you can pass and still look back with your arm behind the passenger seat and one hand turning the wheel..

  1. no only can you i would recommend it

  2. Yes you can. If you are keeping both hands on the wheel when you're in reverse, you can't see everything and have a better chance of an accident. You should be going slow when you're in reverse anyway...

  3. I'm not from NJ, but I used to learn to parallel park (4 years ago) on my mirrors. Somehow it was the safest way they told me...

  4. it's been years since I've taken a driving test, but when I did, you were SUPPOSED to look backwards with your arm behind the passenger seat while backing up.

If you have a driving instructor, you might want to ask them.

    good luck!
