When parked, does a motorcycle which has a sidecar attached need to also have the kickstand down, or will...?

...it stand up without the kickstand down because of the sidecar?

  1. The sidecar will hold the bike upright.  The kickstand is useless with a sidecar.

  2. With a conventional sidecar no kick stand is needed. However with some of the "leaner" sidecars a kick stand  or blocking mechanism is needed.

  3. Any vehicle or device with 3 contact points will be able to stand independently.  However it could roll slightly to the side depending upon the incline.  In that case you would have to leave your vehicle engaged in any gear so that it would not roll indefinitely.  Alternatively you could also put a couple of stopper blocks made of wood or some other material, to act as restrains for the tyre.
