  1. Why so you can steal someone's card and then go where they don't ID?

  2. Yeah.

    Move to Wisconsin.

They never ask for anything here.

  3. Credit Cards are evil.

  4. I can only imagine that you want this info for no good reason.

  5. Depends on the store. And, I live in the midwest.

  6. To avoid abuse of my cards, I have written on the back in block letters ,

    CHECK I.D.

So yes , I'm almost always asked.

  7. i live in new york, and they only ask to see my ID when i'm doing credit and because i didnt write my name on the back..

  8. In Australia they do not ask to see your picture ID;  they ask to see the signature on the credit card to compare it with the signature on the receipt.

  9. Rarely, which really irritates me, because I specifically wrote on the back of my card- "See ID".  I live in Maryland, U.S.A., but this happens wherever I travel.

I think cashiers are often more worried about offending people than security.  After all, they don't have anything to lose.

  10. Not very often. Only when I'm at places like the book store for my college do they ask. At stores and restaurants and such they hardly ever ask. It's rare.

    I live in Southern California.

  11. if the cashier has any intelligence and the company cares about the problem of ID fraud.

Some places around here in PA they do not card as often as they should.

At my job no ID= no doing business with them period.

  12. Rarely. I live in Illinois. There was a cashier at a department store once who told me she couldn't accept my card until I signed the back. I signed it, she ran it through, and then compared the signature on the receipt with the one on the card I just signed. Not the brightest girl in the world.

  13. Wisconsin, rarely do they ever ask for anything.
