  1. I have my certification in Kansas - there are a few other states that will accept this, but not all. Teaching certifications are good for the state they are received because it is that state's requirements that you have met. There is a national certification, but it takes several years to work on and receive after you have already been teaching in your state.

  2. Check with the Dept. of Education of the state you wish to teach in for authorization.

  3. Generally speaking, your certificate will work in your state.  However, there are many states with reciprocal agreements for teacher certification.  Basically that means that all you have to do is turn in paperwork (proof of certification, test scores, etc.), pay a fee, and you've got your certificate in their state.

If your state does not have an agreement, you may have to pass a test, take a few classes, do a boatload of paperwork, or otherwise jump through a multitude of hoops.

Check with the Department of Education for your state and teh state where you would like to work in.
