In Canada we just call it "Junior" and "Senior". We don't call ourselves "freshmans" its just "niners" or "minor niners". What gives? Am I lost in translation?

  1. lol

i think i know what your talking about

Varsity is the highest level, its like senior

J-V (junior varsity) is the basic, its like junior

and freshman is the year 9 team, thats just niners

    its basically the same

i think thats what your asking :D

  2. In the US, there are usually 3 high school teams.  a "freshman" team (which is ninth graders ONLY), a JV team (Junior Varsity, which is usually sophmores (10th graders) and juniors (11th graders), then there is a Varsity team.  Varsity is the highest and is mostly all Seniors or Juniors.  You can make it on to any team (JV or varsity) depending on what your skill level is.  The better you are, the higher team you get on.  I hope this wasn't to confusing.

  3. At least in my region, the team that you're on does not necessarily indicate your age. Varsity is highest level, then junior varsity, then C-team. But teams are not always divided seniors on varsity, juniors and sophomores on JV, and freshmen on C. There are lots of juniors and sophomores and even some freshmen that are good enough to play varsity early, and some seniors never make varsity.

  4. Well in America there's the Varsity team, and then there's Junior Varsity, which isn't as good as varsity. Then the freshman, or 9th graders, have their own, Freshman team.
