  6. The West Country is defined as Cornwall, Devon, Avon and Somerset and Dorset (Bristol and Gloucester is classed as The West).  I am a West Country lass. Born in Plymouth, live in Cornwall. Regional ITV is West Country Television.

  7. Bristol (which is a City and a County) down to the South West peninsula.

I say it isw where people speak with a West Country accent, so, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset.  Devon and Cornwall I would call the South West.  By the time you are getting into Oxford and Warwickshire, that is the South Midlands.  Hampshire is the South of England.
