When people who speak sign language think, do they hear words, or do they see little hands in their head?

When we think we can hear our words in our head, so do deaf people hear words too or do they just see their hands moving?

  1. deaf people don't hear anything............

    so they don't know how to pronounce the words.  they just know how it's spelled.


  2. If they've been deaf since birth, I wold guess they see hands moving, since they've never heard words being spoken. Or maybe they see words.

  3. The previous answer got it just right.  How do you think?  Do you hear voices or see words?

  4. Do you see words when you think? I don't. I see the thing I'm talking about. If I am thinking "a dog chasing a cat" I am not seeing the words, I am visualizing a dog chasing a cat.

  5. WHOA i never thought of that.  Well, they cant exactly HEAR the words, because they have NO IDEA what they sound like at all. They probably see pictures and just think thoughts without words which is weird to think about for the rest of us but it must happen somehow. Maybe they see hands sometimes.
