  2. well, usually there are endorsements, tho the IOC doesn't pay them, their country usually gives them some money. it was on nbc.

  3. They get medals from the IOC.

Many home countries pay prize money to them.

    USOC pays $25,000 for gold

China pays 1 million yuan for gold

Singapore pays 1 million Singaporean dollars

    Russia pays 100,000 euros

    Greece pays 200,000 euros

  4. Yes...if lets say nike sponsors someone. nike will tell them that if they win 2 gold medals the will pay them a certain amount of money.

  5. Get paid in what way......an what endorsements?

Sports participants representing their countries are specially selected to compete in Olympics and they are not paid.  All expenses will be covered by the organiser of the team and the country.

I don't think there is any endorsements, but they get the name & medal.

A prize or bonus scheme of each country is different from one another e.g. S'pore is giving $1m (Sin$) for Gold, $750,000 for Silver ............

Another income is from sponsor price for winning and advertisement commission, etc.

  6. Nah but it's a pretty sure thing that they'll get some free cars and money from people who want them on the cover of their cereal box or in their commercials..

  7. No- they receive no payment, that is the beauty of the Olympics. Competitors are competing only for glory. They will receive sponsorship and may be paid of interviews. I bet Mr Bolt will receive about $1 million for breaking the 100mtr record at a later comp.

  8. i think they should get payment for winning in olympics..yet not sure!!

  9. Some countries give their athletes cash bonuses for winning medals.

  10. Not directly, but they get sponsorships.  In some countries, athletes are paid to train by the government/universities/some other group

  11. umm...isn't a gold medal enough?

  12. Olympic athletes do not get paid to participate in the Olympics.

  13. No, they receive no payment directly for winning medals.

  14. Yeah there home country pays them and if they do good enough companys like Nike, puma might sponsor them.

  15. some but most Not unless they get some kind of endorsemnt from some companys, example phelps and visa ( i know theres like 19 more phelps has im just sayin, dude is a bizzilonare now with endorsements)

i remeber hearing one countrys women tennis table  team ( i think south korea) would have got 1 mil for gold and 500k for silver from there home country but its not required
