After you get the dvd, can you use it to print for yourself or will you have to go through the photographer to get more prints?

Is there anyway to be able to make copies of the pics yourself?

Thanks!!!

  1. Yes you can print them. Just save all the files and you can usually just send them right to a photo place(ritz, CVS, Walmart, Target ect)

    Enjoy!

  2. makesure they are the high resoloution files without any watermark!

  3. you can print them or take them to be printed as long as there isn't a copyright on them.

  4. I would assume yes...that is the way it usually works, but I would ask upfront  before you go ahead and do it. A lot of places (Walmart, Target, ect) will ask for a photo release form if the suspect that they are professional so you might want to make sure you have that. Hope I helped....best of luck to you!

  5. Technically Yes you can, you may have to tell the people at the store that a friend took the pictures for you, with my engagement pictures the photographer gave us a Release for the stores. It really just depends on how the people at the store are. Good luck =)

  6. It depends on what you purchased. I'm getting rights to the photos in my package, but a lot of photographers don't offer that. Check your contract. Likely if you've been given electronic copies you have rights, but there's not necessarily the case.

  7. yeah that was one of the things we discussed with our photographer...the cost of his services included the rights to our own pictures. so when he developed the photos, we got those PLUS the CD with the pictures and a release form so that there wouldn't be any issue if we needed to reprint.

i assume you can just take the CD to walgreens or target and have photos made.

  8. I would assume yes, otherwise he probably wouldn't give you a disk. However, you should probably check to be sure. I had rights to mine but had trouble printing them off because I didn't have the paper to prove it and the store wouldn't print them. So, I went elsewhere and got them.

Copying the actual pictures is against copyright laws. But, using them from the disk that he gave you is acceptable as long as he okays it.

  9. Well it depends. Normally  you can not print them yourself unless you get consent of the photographer because they own the "right" to the photos and it's illegal otherwise.

Most big box places (Wal-Mart specifically) won't even print professional photos unless the person can prove they took them.

It's also possible the cd/dvd they gave you isn't even print resolution (300 DPI) but computer monitor resolution (72 DPI) so they wouldn't print correctly anyway.

  10. If they give you the disk, they're giving you the right to print them yourself. If you get prints, they are copyrighted, and you do not own the images, just the prints, and you have to get reprints from the photographer. It is illegal to copy prints without a signed release from the photographer.
